We were able to go on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River this summer for a 6 day trip and bring Marlee, Cole and Kiya. It was amazing and we had great weather! Teagan, Ryken and Lincoln got to stay in Boise with my family, thanks tons for watching my kids Noelle, Laura, Danielle and mom. We had a big group of all family and friends, Mark and Diana got to come and bring their 3 oldest kids and Tara and Grandad got to come too. We all stayed at the Hoge Lodge in Island Park this summer, the cabin was right on the water. We had tons of fun swimming, water skiing and eating awesome food!

So, Paul decided to cut the boys hair one night after hearing me talk about them all needing haircuts. Helpful right? Well, the next thing I know Teagan comes down with a mo-hawk! What the heck is going on, ugh. I was thinking, OK, Teagan looks good with his head shaved so I guess I can live with it for a couple days. Then Ryken walks down...and I do not like his head shaved....then I'm thinking crap, swimming lessons, one more day of swimming lessons, this is going to be fun. Teagan thought it was all great, everyone keep telling him that he looked like a real Indian now, he didn't want to shave it off for a while. But Ryken felt a little unsure, he kept touching his head and whenever he saw himself in the mirror, he would be a little startled, he actually jumped a couple of times, poor guy. Cole wasn't sure about his hair but either, Paul said he would get him a DSI game if he would shave it.

Ok, so we got a new puppy, her name is Presley, we picked her out when she was just a few days old, we love her, except for Paul, he hates dogs, oh and cats, anyway, we bought her from Paul's brother Mark. Tara, my sister, also bought a puppy, her name is Lola, they are sister puppies. Tara had to put her dog Toby, who was 15, to sleep a few months ago. So sad. Here are some pics from the day she was born till a couple of weeks ago. Daisy, our other golden has been adjusting well, I think she even like Presley now.

Teagan had such a great year this year in Kindergarten; I can't believe he will be in first grade next year! He is already reading books, and we are so proud of him. His teachers told me what a good quiet boy he always was in class and asked me if he is always so quite. Ha ha, Teagan quiet? What? If Teagan is home and awake, I always know where he is!!!

Track Track Track!

Marlee had another great year in track, she won all of her events in every meet, including breaking another city record in the 4x4 again this year, go Marlee, we hope she continues to run fast and enjoy it. We also had the kids to the Heresy Track and Field meet again this year, Marlee got first in both of her events, Cole placed 2nd and 3rd in his 100m and 200m open and Kiya placed 1st in the 100m open and 2nd in her 200m open and long jump. Good Job guys!!

Ryken is finally in a big boy bed. Ryken does NOT like change, every time I would ask him if he wanted to sleep in his big boy bed he would say "I seep good my cib mom!!!" Well he finally did it. Lincoln needed the crib so we bought some Spiderman bed stuff and Ryken helped move the crib into Lincoln's room. He is still easy to put to bed! yes!! Can you say obsessed? Well that’s what most of the people in my family are since we got the Wii and Rockband for Christmas. Singing, drums, 2 guitars, we had to buy the second one since everybody fought over playing. Paul sends the kids to bed every night and goes on tour with his band Blackrock Group. Paul on the guitar and Lloyd on the drums and me sometimes on the bass guitar. I have to admit it’s pretty fun!! We have a kids band called eCHOhAWK and Teagn rocks the drums(he is seiously good), Kiya and Ryken sing, Cole and Marlee play the guitars.

All of my kids have been really sick the last 2 months, one of the reasons I have not been able to post any new blogs. I seem to be up late with one for a couple nights then up late with another, it seems never ending sometimes. The flu, the croup, colds, ear infections, swollen glands…….I have been to the doctor’s office 5 times with different and same kids in the past 2 weeks. Aside from being really sleep deprived, so far neither Paul or me have been sick, knock on wood!!! This last weekend Lincoln got the croup with a fever of 102. He was having a hard time breathing and had no appetite, I felt so nervous at night that he wouldn’t be able to breathe well, so I pretty much stayed up with him and held him. So I took him to the doctor who said that he needed to be admitted to the hospital. I went straight to the hospital and didn’t leave the room for what seemed like forever. Paul of course was clear across the U.S. in Washington DC for work, so my friend picked up Ryken and drove all the kids around to their various activates, and finally my sister Tara came all the way from Boise to help. Everybody seems to be feeling better now, Lincoln is looking much better and breathing better, he still isn’t very hungry and has the remains of a cough. Teagan who got the croup a few days before Christmas just got his voice back this past week. We are thinking that we liked him without a voice. Hee hee! Ryken’s neck is no longer swollen after 10 days of antibiotics, and he recovered pretty quickly from the croup after a dose of decahedral at the doctor’s office. Ahhhhhhhh maybe I will sleep good tonight!!

We had such a fun Christmas, I loved having the kids home for 2 whole weeks!!!!! We played games, slept in, played the WiI, played tons and tons of Rockband, went to Boise, and ate lots of good food.

Tara and Candice stopped by good old Pocatello on their way to the Coldplay Concert down in Salt Lake. They spent a couple of nights, we went to Twilight, (again), went to Costco, because we can, and had lots of fun taking pictures of the Coldplay tour jacket that Candice made. And yes, after the concert people thought that a member of the band had given Candice the jacket, and others wanted to know where they could buy one.

We also had fun making fun of Larry and Cindy's Christmas card picture from last year, as you can see by this picture here is Tara (aka dad) and Candice (aka mom)hee hee!!

My sister Laura came to Pocatello a week and a half ago to take some newborn pictures of Lincoln. She took a tons of pictures will he slept and slept. Paul and I love them all! Thank you Marlee for posting the picture of Lincoln right after he was born. Here are some more pics.

After barely making it to the hospital with my last baby, this time I wanted to make sure I wasn't running in at the last minute. So this time, with a more normal labor pattern, I got to the hospital at around 12 midnight, with time to spare. Easy contractions that didn't progress really fast until we decided to break my water. After that things moved really fast. I labored about 40 min in the shower with Paul rubbing my back the entire time. That's right--Pocatello does not have bathtubs in their labor and delivery rooms! We are in the olden days over here--bug! I had about 5 contractions that hurt pretty bad. Then I rushed to the bed in between a contraction while trying not to push, trying to throw on some clothes (because I had three kids in the room), and trying not to slip because I was wet from the shower(Paul caught me when I almost slipped). After I got the bed I tried not to push (because I knew it was going to hurt) through about 5 more contractions till I couldn't stand it anymore and then I pushed one time and out he came! Paul was there to help the midwife deliver him and put him on me. Kiya was by my side playing with my hair, Cole was covering his ears, and Marlee was trying not to faint (even though this is the third birth of mine she has been to, this is the first one she has actually watched). So here are some pics of the labor and after; I can't post any of the birth or after of me because I only had enough time to put on my bra and not my hospital gown.

This isn't a very good picture, but it will have to do for now. We're thinking of the name Lincoln for him. He was born on September 17, at 3:40 a.m. He is 8 lbs. and 1 oz. and he is 21 inches long, and is doing very well.

The Pocatello Marathon!

Paul, Marlee, COle, and Kiya all ran in the Pocatello Marathon. They all did great. Paul did the half, 13 miles, Cole and Kiya did the 5k 3 miles and Marlee did the mile and a half.

Ryken loves Spiderman these days. He is always dressing up as Spiderman and wanting to watch the movie. He is also obsessed with his cars and keeping them organized, every car has to be on the road and if one is moved he has to put it back immediately, it's so funny. It doesn't usually cause any problems until bedtime when he has to check them all!

Paul and Kiya both ran 3 miles a couple Saturdays ago, it was a last minute thing they decided to do at 10pm the night before. Kiya ran it with her aunt Diana and her cousin Savannah, and Paul ran with Mark and Cameron. Kiya had never run more than 1 mile before. She was also wearing basketball shoes. She ran in 27 min which is pretty fast!! Go Kiya!!

Twin Falls!

Last weekend we all went to Twin Falls, we came from Pocatello and meet all my family there from Boise. We all went through the new temple, it was beautiful. We went by the house my dad grew up in, to Shoshone Falls, and down to the Blue Lakes. It was a very fun and busy day.

Marlee and I went to Vegas for a dance camp last week, my friend drove and we had 8 people in her Sequoia. I know this has it been a busy summer! We had tons of fun. The girls pretty much danced the whole time but we did get to do some shopping, swimming, the New York roller coaster and we all went to see Love, it was amazing! Here are a few pic from Vegas.

EchoHawk Family Reunion Island Park!!

A few weeks ago all the EchoHawks went to Island Park. It was so fun! We had 2 huge cabins with beds for everyone. There was also a hot tub for each cabin. Grandpa brought his boat and we went 4wheeling, fishing, boating,and of course played games. It was very fun and relaxing! Here are some pics from the trip!

We took the kids on the Main Payette river last week when we were in Boise, they all had tons of fun, we even took Ryken it was his first time, he loved it! He got a little cold after swimming at lunch time, but warmed up pretty quick. The water was a little higher than we had thought and my sisters boat that Marlee was on almost flipped. I'm so glad everybody was safe. A boat that came though just after us flipped, can I say how glad I am that it wasn't us!!

Marlee was gone to girls camp this week so I didn't get any of her, but she's already promised to model for me this week. My kids are starting to get tired of all the pictures, can't blame them I guess!

Teagan, he's way too cute, for some reason he holds his breath when I take pictures of him, so after a couple of pictures he falls to the ground breathing hard.

Cole, his favorite thing to do after I take pictures of him is to take them of me.

Well Kiya cut her own bangs, she has been wanting them for about 2 years and I keep telling her NO, I don't like bangs!! So she finally went and did it herself, luckily they don't look too bad, I havn't even taken her in to get them fixed, and she still looks cute, even though I still don't really like bangs. What do you do?

Ryken has a really hard time sitting still for any pictures, but when he does he will NOT look at me, bug!! I thought these turned out cute.

This is what he likes to do when it's picture time, funny huh.

We got back from New York last week and I think I’m just now recovering from all the walking. I felt like we walked 20 miles a day and I think we were all speed walking to keep up with Tara since her legs are way longer than all of ours. I went with Marlee, my mom and three of my sisters. We had a ton of fun seeing all the sites, touring NBC studio, taking a boat tour, walking though Central Park, taking lots of Pics. We stayed 2 nights at my friend Jessie’s house and 4 nights in a hotel near Time Square. The last night we were there my friend Jessie took to the beach and we all went out to dinner. We had several star sighting, thanks to Tara’s and Noelle’s keen eyes, and one naked lady being painted in the park. Here are some of the pictures we took.

Cole is loving baseball, he is doing really well, it has been a cold season, hopefully things will start warming up soon!

This is Kiya's 8th season in soccer, her and Cole have been on the same team every season which is nice because I get to coach both of them.

This is Cole's 9th season in soccer, he says he likes soccer better than football, basketball and baseball. I think it's because he has played for so long and is really good at it. It's been so fun to coach them, but I think after this season I am going to take a break.

Marlee's city track meet, breaking city records held for 27 years!!!

Marlee had her city track meet this week. Yes I'm going to brag a little, isn't that what mom's do. Marlee got 1st place in her 100m open almost breaking the city record, she got 13.4 seconds the record is 13.3. In her 200m open she got 1st place almost breaking the record again with a time of 27.86 seconds, city record 27.33. She is the first 7th grade girl to have a time under 28 seconds in around 7 years!! Her times we also faster in both the 100 and the 200 than all the 8th grade girls and all but 1 of the 7th grade boys. Marlee's 4x1 relay team broke the city record held since 1981, (27 years) with a time of 56 sec, which was faster than the 7th grade boys team. This is a picture of the girls. Her 4x2 relay team placed second. Way to go Marlee!!!! We are so proud of you!!! Down below are several video clips of her city races this week.

Huh, this is what we woke up to on May 1st, about 5 inches of snow, is it ever going to be Spring??? We have had the coldest, longest winter with snow from September through May. Please be spring!!

Here is a picture of our new little one. The picture of the face was taken at a 13 week unltrasound and the one of the body was at 18 weeks. We think it might be a boy, but won't know for sure until the 6th of May..

Paul & Steph met in the summer of '93 in Boise and married in November in Salt Lake City. Their first baby Marlee was born in Provo during Paul's last year of undergrad at BYU. When she was two weeks old they moved to Stanley, Idaho and lived in a cabin while Paul worked as a river guide. Twins Cole and Kiya were born after Paul finished law school and while they all lived in the Pond's basement in Boise. After clerking a year for the Idaho Supreme Court, they moved to Virginia to live while Paul worked for the Justice Department in Washington, D.C. After a year on the east coast, they moved to Boise where Paul took a job as an associate with Holland & Hart. Teagan was born in 2002 in Pocatello, Idaho after a move to Pocatello from Boise. Ryken, the youngest, was born in Pocatello in 2005. In addition to school, Marlee is busy with dance, gym and track, Kiya with dance and gym and soccer. Cole plays baseball, soccer, and flag football, Teagan plays soccer and loves to hang out with Ryken who just keeps us all busy. Aside from everything else, Steph coaches Cole and Kiya's soccer team and assistant coaches Teagan's team.
